Release 23.6 of the product variants uses Faktor-IPS 23.6 and offers a new feature previously contained in the Faktor-IOS extension. From the update site the add-on "ProductVariant Datatype" can be installed. The datatype is added to an .ipsproject file in the <UsedPredefinedDatatypes> section as <Datatype id="core.ProductVariant"/>. Product variants can then be referenced by their runtime IDs in product components and tables.
